Case Study

BreathingRoom

Creating a new brand and product experience for students and youth during a critical time of need

The Challenge

BreathingRoom was looking to expand on its existing product by creating a desktop experience that complemented its mobile app. Student interviews revealed behaviour patterns that showed students spent more time consuming the online modules from their laptops but would circle back to key content pieces while on the go. This cross-platform experience was paramount in how we designed both applications and catered to how students consumed content.

.01

A brand grounded in personal journey

We established a brand direction centered around nature playing a critical role in one's mental health. We choose an illustrative style as it provided the most flexibility and allowed us to theme each module uniquely.

.02

A multi-platform experience

Students had to be able to access the desktop app and then minutes later resume their progress on mobile. We choose to develop the app using React Native which allowed us to leverage the same library of components and publish to both desktop, Android and iOS all at once.

.03

A website that caters to schools and institutions

Through stakeholder interviews, we determined bulk licensing through schools and institutions to be the primary revenue driver behind the program. The content on the website needed to cater to both schools students and donors and provide a clear sales channel.

Heather Thomas - Executive Director CINIM

"It was very important to us to recruit a team for this project who believes in the work we are doing as a charitable organization with a social enterprise - Matt showed his support in so many ways. His skill, professionalism and integrity helped deliver a product we could take nationwide."
